Dec. 20th, 2006 09:16 pmQuick holiday update.
Yesterday spent some time over at Toys for Tots with
baylorsr helping parents pick out gifts for their kids. It was a good experience and I'm glad La Baylor (or was it her Sister, it's hard to differentiate sometimes) had the bright idea to invite me along.
My apartment smells like gingerbread. It's a really nice, homey smell. Gingerbread cookies are kinda, sorta, more of a pain to bake then I had remembered. Mostly they take constant vigilance or else they burn and, well, I think I burnt almost half of them. Well, 'burnt' as in, "I'm not going to give these to friends and neighbours" but not so burnt that I won't eat them. My father's example has taught me many things, not least of which is how to appreciate the still tasty cookies that no one else will eat. ;-)
For any interested I made New England Molasses Gingerbread Cookies and they really are quite tasty.
Finally, as my holiday gift to you all, I offer
