Dec. 19th, 2006 07:30 pmI survived Finals!!!!!!!
I have never, ever, in the history of the world been so preoccupied over some stupid exams the way I was over the ones I just took but they're over and done with and I am free, free at last!, for an entire 3 weeks.
This is quite possibly the greatest feeling I have ever felt. I am at one with the cosmos.
Immediately upon leaving my last final (Properties) I sped down to Fangirl Central (tangentially: while walking to my car I burst into hysterical laughter and I couldn't stop for an entire block. It was insanity). The weekend that proceeded was all Supernatural, all the time with a side of Christmas presents thrown in.
Speaking of Christmas presents, if you haven't read
hiyacynth's latest story The Dumbest Thing Dean Ever Did then you need to run right over there and read it. It's pure cracky gold and you will never, ever be able to watch that scene in 'Croatoan' the same way again. It's absolute comedy genius.
Ahem, yes, this weekend. If it's possible to be oversexed without actually getting any then that is precisely what happened over the weekend. Winchesters combined with a viewing of Casino Royale that had me in such a state. Dayumn, I was never really a Bond fan before but sign me up. It's like the producers were in a meeting and said, "Well, that whole objectification of women thing isn't working out so well for us. Let's just go ahead a objectify Bond instead." And boy howdy did they ever. Besides that it was actually a good movie with a good story and great actors.
Capped off the weekend with a family visit to La Grandmere and returned home to an Sunday evening of internet-y goodness. *happy sigh* There's no place like home.
In the coming weeks I hope to get some fic finished and some other stories begun. I have some other projects I want to finish as well as an apartment to deep clean. There's Christmas on Monday and all of the things I need to get done before then (like buying presents for most of my family and cookie baking and the like) but the tree is decorated and the cleaning has begun.
But, first, I have to go watch some Farscape. mmmmm ... Crichton. December's really looking up.
ETA: I sat through Casino Royale staring at the new Moneypenny and wondering who that guy was. All I could remember was that I'd seen him in something before and he'd been sneering. IMDb just informed me that he played Brutus in Rome. HA! That's fabulous! No wonder I remember the sneering.

Date: 2006-12-21 02:12 am (UTC)Thank you! And now onto important things, like fic reading/writing. My priorities have been so out of whack the past couple of months. ;-)
And fangirls are just love, aren't they?

Date: 2006-12-21 04:15 am (UTC)It felt like an appropriate theory on fandom and escapist fantasies and such :) Plus, it's doubly appropriate since it's from an SGA episode where Dr. Weir (in the icon - I don't know if you know any Stargate) is trapped in this crazy mindfuck thing where she thinks she is back on Earth and everyone is telling her the Stargate program and Atlantis never existed and are all her fantasy.
YAY Important things and at least temporarily fixing priorities!
Fangirls are SO LOVE! *loves*

Date: 2006-12-20 05:05 am (UTC)Still thinking dirty things about Bond in the shower, the skin on his arms pinking up through the wet tuxedo shirt. Two or so weeks until I find out whether I was actually made pregnant by that scene (and the rest of the weekend).
Hey, thanks for the pimp, baby. You're the best.
Love you!

Date: 2006-12-21 02:16 am (UTC)ahem I don't care that it was physiologically impossible for me to be impregnated I'm absolutely positive that in 9 months I will have a little Bond/Winchester hybrid to call my own.
*looks at icon* It's hard but I will resist making pervy comments about your boyfriend. But, boy, he sure is pretty.
KISSES!

Date: 2006-12-23 11:43 pm (UTC)We absolutely celebrate Christmas. If we didn't I think I would anyway 'cause it's my favorite holiday.
Tobias Menzies' part isn't huge but he's the new Moneypenny (or so I dubbed him) so he has some good stuff.
Merry Christmas!!!
