Dog Days (or Nights)
Feb. 4th, 2004 12:19 amMy sleeping schedule has been all messed up because of everything that's been going on, and my dog is giving me grief because of it;-). Yes, that's right, the Pup is demanding my attention and will not take no for an answer, as I sit here typing he is standing by my chair whining at me and will not let up until I turn around and play with him. Poor neglected Pup, he's been so bored lately.
Dogs really are the best.medicine.ever;-). I don't know why, but it's so much fun to just sit around and throw tissues in the air and watch him jump up to catch them. It's amazing how he puts his whole attention on that one little piece of tissue and his antics just make me laugh and laugh and laugh. Of course, he may just be humoring me because his real, ulterior motive is for me to let him out into the yard so he can go on a constitutional around the neighbourhood. See, there he sits by the back door, just waiting for me to put him out, assured that his psychic emanations of cuteness will pull me under their thrall and I will be helpless to do anything else. I'd say he was deluding himself, if his plan didn't work so well so very often. I'm such a push-over;-).
I dragged myself to class today (and believe you me, I was definitely dragging). I didn't stay for the whole class, but I did get my first paper back. I got an A-, thank you very much;-). I apparently gave a "very good account of basic theology and psychology" and provided an "excellent sweeping overview of the major shifts in views of evil/individual vulnerability to the Devil's power wrought by the Protestant Reformation". Both the professor and the writing GSI (this is for the upper-level writing credit I need, so I have two critiques instead of one) thought I needed some more specific examples, but come on, it was only a 3-pager. Just wait till the term paper, I'll knock 'em dead with examples;-). Anyway, I was rather nervous about this paper, so I just had to share all of the nice comments. I'm patting myself on the back and I don't feel bad about that at all;-).
So, has anyone else heard about that remake of The Producers that's being planned? I'm kind of ambivalent about that, I love the original so much that I probably wouldn't even go see the Broadway show so great is my love for the original. Speaking of movies I love, the great
europanya has a wonderful write-up of her experiences at the Santa Barbara Film Festival where Peter Jackson was honored. Go, read, and I'll try to contain my jealousy of her and her 'photographer' husband;-).
