Oct. 11th, 2006 12:03 amSo, I thought that my Properties professor had been very nice to me (and the rest of the class, but me in particular as, obviously, I am the most important *snort*) and minimized the assignment work that would have to be done for this week. I read through the stuff in the book in about an hour and it'll probably only take me half of that to brief it. However, when I went to the webpage to look at the other handouts that were mentioned in the syllabus I discovered that the other handouts included 5 more cases that needed to be briefed. Well played, Properties professor, you win again.
The Pup is sleeping at the moment. He's dreaming and making growling noises and I always wonder what he dreams about. I like to think that in the dreams where he's running and snuffling he's dreaming about how he and I are rambling around an eternal field full of squirrels with no leashes in sight. That would be a good dream.
My Contracts professor must think I am the largest repository of random knowledge in the classroom, save himself, of course (he digresses on tangents all the time, it's adorable). Last week I explained to him how the Alamo was not connected to the Mexican - American war and that the Alamo took place earlier, chronologically. This week I answered his question about who played Maria in the movie version of West Side Story. Now if I could only learn Contract law I'd become an effective repository of random knowledge.
And, in case anyone needed anymore proof, beyond the preceding paragraph, that I'm a big ol' nerd you wanna know what I start talking about when I'm so tired that it qualifies as punch drunk? The Psalms. That's right, last week was having a gab session w/ a friend and at one point I had a whole rant about how I preferred the KJV translation of the Bible above all others because the language, especially that of the Psalms, is more beautiful and melodic then any of the subsequent translations. I wear my nerd badge with pride.
I let my 100 icons lapse. I should see about re-getting those.
I would say the world needs more Winchester fic but since I'm not writing any I'd feel kinda hypocritical demanding it. Though I do like sitting in lecture and imagining what Sam would say if he were there. Anything that gets ya through the day. ;-)

Date: 2006-10-11 02:56 am (UTC)Isn't it fun to be able to pull out those random bits of knowledge? I usually can't but this week has been the exception to the rule for some reason - maybe because people keep needing random information about farm animals. *sigh* Apparently I'll never escape my early years as a farmgirl.

Date: 2006-10-11 06:40 am (UTC)You have my full support. There are lots of german translations of the bible, but I would prefer the 1952 revised lutheran any time - mo psalm 23 without lutheran "poetry"! *grins*
but it's fun!
