Oh frak I'm tired. There's not enough caffeine in the world, seriously.

Am officially moved in (though not completely, I still lack two tables and a book shelf but that requires moving them from the parents' house and we all know how lazy I am). Spent last night doing laundry and watching the BSG mini-series. I'd forgotten how powerful it was and I am not ashamed to say that I teared up in quite a few places.

One of the things I love best about BSG in general is how human all of the characters are, even the robots. ;-) These people make mistakes and it costs them, big time, but they keep on going and going despite the odds and their own inadequcies. This show is the definition of good tv.

Speaking of good tv, or perhaps the antithesis of such, the Emmy nominations were announced today and, wow, BSG was shafted. Whatever quibbles one might have about the Galactica's season two slump its C game was far and away better then most shows A game. I mean come one the fact that BSG and SPN garnered the same number of nominations is wrong on so many levels. I've said it before and I'll say it again, awards shows make absolutely no sense.

Though it is nice to see Gillian Anderson nominated for another one. I really have to watch Bleak House one of these days.

Wow, television has completely overridden this post when I meant to talk about the extended weekend. 'Twas marvelous. Friends are the greatest and were a huge help in the move. I wouldn't be nearly as organized now without the help and hard work of [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth. She's pretty much the greatest person ever. She also indoctrinated me into the addictive joys of The O.C.. OMG, it never ends.

Saw Superman Returns on the 4th and it was good. I'm not a huge Superman fan so I wasn't completely blown away but Bryan Singer is a good director and James Marsden is wet for a large chunk of it, so that's all good. A lot of people are saying that it was a half hour too long but there was nothing in it that I felt should've been excised. There was a period when I almost fell asleep but that had more to do with how little I care about Superman, not about how engaging the screenplay was. So blah blah blah, kudos all around and I don't feel like I wated my $6.50, though I have no desire to go back and see it again.

I only get more and more excited for Dead Man's Chest. Read a review in the local paper where the reviewer didn't get the appeal of the movies at all, which was funny and kind of sad, for him. Now I just have to get cracking on the Pirate ficathon story. So many things to write, so little time ...

Ha ha! My work for the forces of The O.C. evil never ends! Seriously. I put a mix in the mail today. It's like the culled down best-of of the five official Mixes.

Can't believe I'm waiting til Sunday night to see Dead Man's Chest. Oh well, that's how it goes.

and James Marsden is wet for a large chunk of it, so that's all good

This is what I keep telling people. :-)

Well you've been quite the busy little bee. *is impressed* I saw the covers you sent, they look fabulous to the extreme.

Ugh, I'm waiting till Saturday to see Dead Man's Chest and it's only unbearable when a coworker comes in first thing and says he was at the midnight showing and then keeps teasing me with little remarks that don't yet make any sense! Freakin' sadist.

la la la pirates

You're almost done? Wow, I'm simply surrounded by impressive people.

When you're done go ahead and post it to your own journal. Leave me a link and I'll put it on the master list.
