Good morning, all!

I got so much sleep this weekend you wouldn't believe. But that's not what I'm here to talk about (though it is why I am mariginally coherent on a Monday morning rather then my usual zombie self) but rather the joy that is Supernatural. I have been mainlining on downloaded episodes for the past two Sundays mainly because a) I was bored, b) the stars are hot, and c) somehow they created the character of Dean Winchester in such a way as to hit every single one of my emotional buttons. He's the oldest, the protector, the one who has to hold the family together. He's not the important one so he's never gotten any of the attention he really needs. He has a guilt complex that could sink the Queen Mary but he pushes it aside with a happy go-lucky veneer and works desperately hard to hold it all together, to hold his family together. He seriously pushes all of my frakking buttons and, of course, it doesn't hurt that he's smoking hot as well. The show might suffer from X-Files wannabe syndrome (with good reason seeing as Kim Manners and John Shiban are producers and David Nutter's been around to direct an episode or two. And did I mention that William B. Davis guest starred in an episode? Because he did) and some of the stories might have plot holes big enough for the proverbial MAC truck but it doesn't matter, I'll keep on watching because Dean Winchester is my new Josh Lyman or Ron Weasley or Xander Harris or Samwise Gamgee or Carwood Lipton or John Crichton or Fox Mulder or OMG this list could go on and on so I'll stop there.

Yeap, shoot me, stuff me, mount me, I'm done for.

This all says a lot about me, doesn't it? It's kind of like a Rohrsach test except more with the smoking hot men on my tv screen and less with the strange ink blots.

In other news, went to a UM/MSU baseball game on Saturday. It would've been perfect baseball weather if not for the clouds. The game was good and Michigan won and that's all the really matters.

Saturday night went to the bookstore and purchased His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik which I had seen recced all over the internet so decided to give it a whirl. It was the most entertaining book I've read in ages. It was the Napoleonic War with dragons. Let me repeat that, the Napoleonic War WITH DRAGONS. If that's not enough to get you to go right out and purchase that book I don't know what is. The story was well told, the characters were exciting and the prose was engaging. A great story and a great read with the added benefit of the Napoleonic War WITH DRAGONS. So much literary love.

I guess that's really all I have to say. Except for the fact that Stephen Colbert was invited to speak at the White House Correspondent Dinner and proceeded to rip everyone in the room a new one, in a comedic fashion. I love him so much that I have no words to express the depth of my feelings. I can't wait to get home so that I can watch all of the online clips. somuchlove

La la la *does not listen to the call of new TV crack* la la la

I am so full up with the Colbert love. I can't believe the wrinklies on that guy.

I had something else to say, but I forgot what it was.

Oh my, and it is so extremely cracky, too. Not in an 'I'm so obsessed I can't think straight' way but more in a 'Wow I want to hug you and comfort you and do all sorts of things to you so much that I can ignore the glaring plot inconsistencies' sort of way. So, yes, avoid the crack at all measures.

Stephen is love and if I had a new dog I would name it Colbert because my devotion is pure and real.

D'oh! And here I was considering a t-shirt. But a dog would be so much better.

I would say, "ha HA I love Stephen more." except I have no Colbert icons. woe

oooooo, t-shirts have potential. Just think of all of the wonderful messages one could send to Stephen of of one's t-shirted bosom.

NO STEPHEN ICONS???

And, yes... this t-shirt idea is really starting to appeal to me.

I watched an episode of that at my brother's house a few weeks ago, and it was a beautiful thing. I am definitely going to be tuning in next season. And you're quite right, that man is hot!

The Napoleonic War with dragons, huh? Looks like a book I'll be adding to my summer reading list. Awesomeness!

It was kinda iffy when it started but the show has actually improved by leaps and bounds as the season's progressed. And it is oh so pretty. *happy sigh*

WITH DRAGONS! Sorry, I can't get over it. I never thought I'd be so excited about a dragon book but it's all so entertaining. Plus, bonus, it's a nice fast read, perfect for the beach. ;-)
