Mar. 17th, 2006 03:57 pmHappy St. Patrick's Day!
In 1840-something my patrilineal ancestors set sail from Ballymena, Ireland and eventually settled in Homer, Michigan. We have been in this part of the country ever since. We've been farmers and lawyers and mechanics and bueracrats and business men and all sorts of other things but we haven't yet forgotten where we came from.
Though, apparently, my wearing of green today is something of an affront because my ancestors were protestants not catholics but seeing as I'm neither it doesn't quite matter anymore, I suppose. =D Go forth and have some green beer for me today, my friends!
All I want to do tonight is stay home and watch Dr. Who. What I will be doing tonight is putting together some chiles rellenos (stuffed, fried poblano chiles) and heading to a potluck. Let this be a lesson to all, never speculate on things with a mother in hearing distance because she will remember and will nag you mercilessly if the possibility of not going to hang out with all of the other good little mormons comes up. She says I need more friends at church, I say that most of the people at church wouldn't know what to do with me (OMG fandom, you have warped me for life! *snerk*).
V for Vendetta comes out today. I kinda want to see that.
Watched Michigan play in the opening round of the NIT last night. We might not have made it to the NCAA finals but we won't let that keep us down! We had third row seats, we were close enough to the court to smell the players' sweat, it was fun.
Finally, was accepted to the local law school and that is the one which I will be attending in the fall. First step: conquer law school, next step: the world.

Date: 2006-03-20 01:46 am (UTC)Thank you! I'm going to Thomas M. Cooley Law School, it's right in the town I grew up in so what it lacks in prestige it makes up for in not making me move again. =D *joins dance of YAY*

Date: 2006-03-20 04:33 am (UTC)Cross between 1984 and Phantom of the Opera only more gratuitous violence and less sense. Bleh.
I agree, interesting premise and interesting ideas but massively failed plotline.
YAY YOU AND LAW SCHOOL!!!!!!!!
*is still proud*
