Spent a rousing weekend watching all of Battlestar Galactica so have now seen all of the season one episodes that I missed, as well as the mini-series. It was all very exciting.

The Saturn Award nominations were announced recently. For those of you who don't know those are the genre Oscars and Emmys all combined into one. It's all rather predictable but the only shocking thing was that neither Edward James Olmos nor Mary McDonnell were nominated for BSG. What the frakk is up with that?! I'm sorry, but you'd rather give an award to Evangeline Lilly over Mary McDonnell?! There is something seriously wrong with that. Saturn Awards, you are now dead to me.

Plus, they ignored Harry Gregson-Williams just like the Oscars did. I'd seriously contemplate giving out my own awards but no one would come to the ceremony and what's the point if the pretty people don't show up? *snerk*

My parents' kitchen pipes have apparently frozen. That's a big ol' pain in the ass, can't even run the dishwasher.

Those of us over in [livejournal.com profile] fansreading will be reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett during the month of March. If any of you are interested I would highly encourage you to come on over and join us. The power of the book club compels you.

Finally, I have the photographic evidence that proves that [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr is just as OCD as she always claims to be. I'd never before seen anyone hug a steam cleaner, it was quite the experience. And I won't even mention the hair.

Mardi Gras is this week, folks. Watch out. =D

Silly awards show! *pouts at them*

Ooh! Good Omens! Very excellent choice! Wish I was capable of playing along.

Also, must say I'm glad Mardi Gras is this week and thus should be mostly over before my team gets down there and has a chance to get themselves in trouble.

I don't know why I continue to watch awards shows because they always end up disappointing me. Oh yeah, that's right, pretty people. =D *is shallow*

Wanna know what's funny? My brother, the Big Lug, is going to be in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. My parents are having kittens over it as we speak.

I don't get how they can ignore the brilliance of Harry Gregson-Williams. Every soundtrack I've heard by him is fabulous, and he definitely deserves some recognition.

Eee, Good Omens! Woot! Have you read it before?

*dances*

I concur. We have Harry Gregson-Williams who is relatively new on the Hollywood scene yet absolutely brilliant at movie scoring who never receives recognition and then we have John Williams who is a wonderful composer but nobody deserves that many awards and/or nominations. weak weak weak.

I love Good Omens. I've read it a couple times and every time I start it I always have to sit on my bed and read it to myself, aloud, in my fake british accent because that's just the way it needs to be read. So much love.

I'm sorry, but the Saturn Awards didn't even nominate these two? WTF people? Dead to me, too.

Speaking as someone (and not a very neat somone) who routinely goes batshit crazy scraping disgusting goop out of appliances major and minor, I would like to step forward in support of [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr and her steam cleaner. I can only be grateful there wasn't a camera active the day I went after the inside of my wet/dry vac with a fork, a crochet hook, and an old toothbrush.

BTW, don't you think you should assassinate Sharon and then bring Helo into a fun four-way marriage with the Chief and me? I'm just saying.

Dead to us all.

Yes, but it doesn't matter because we're all well aware of your scary OCD'ness. Some day your's too will be documented for everyone to see. *dun dun duuuuhn*

I could certainly get behind the assassination of Sharon Valerii. Let me give Alex Krycek a call so that we can get started on that four-way marriage. mmmmmm, Helo ...
