Saw Goblet of Fire on Friday. It was good but not nearly as amazing as Prisoner of Azkaban was. It was more about the jumping around from action set piece to action set piece and less about focusing on Harry and letting the story play out around him. Also, the editing was a little too brusque.

However, am extremely excited by how good the boys were in it. Rupert and Daniel have really grown up, haven't they? I'm so proud of the job they both did. The two moments that made me tear up were seeing Ron dejected and miserable when he thought Harry had left him behind and when Harry was wailing over Cedric's body. So very, very proud.

The Holidays are nigh upon us and that means all sorts of fun things. I've begun the arduous task of putting together Holiday cards and need names and addresses, people. If you want me to send you a bright and shiny Holiday card please email your address to me at liptonrm [at] hotmail.com and I will send you one. This is one of my favorite Holiday traditions so the more the merrier.

Last year I really enjoyed putting together bits and bobs to fill those wishlists that were floating around. So let's do that again this year.

Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a BoB icon made just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. - Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ

Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. Any sort of fannish fun. Icons would be wonderful. I could use some good Christmas/Yule ones and also a decent one for cold weather. Crazy little stories would also be fun. If you ever think, "It bet Megan would have an apoplexy of joy if such and such happened" then I dare you to write it down. Believe you me, I'll get a kick out of pretty much anything.

2. Music, music, music, music. I can never have enough music. I love pretty much everything so don't hesitate to send whatever. I do not care how you get it, I will love it.

3. Books of any type or genre. If you don't know whether I've read it before, don't hesitate to ask. You'd be surprised by the books I have and have not read.

4. If you get really stumped there's always the Amazon wishlist to help you out.

5. Earrings. I never seem to have enough pairs and always feel as if I'm wearing the same ones over and over and over again. Dangly or stud, vintage or modern, they're all pretty.

6. Action Figures. They're my new guilty addiction. I need a Merry and a Pippin and a Xander and a Giles and a Wash and those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe someday I'll have a cabinet full of them and I'll take them out and act out crack-y stories of my very own.

7. Service. Maybe instead of getting me something you can go out and donate to the local shelter or some other charity. There are always people who need more simply to facilitate survival. We can all only do so much but every little bit helps.

8. A Commune. It could have a central building with lots of living space and a common room with a huge fireplace and lots of little cottages dotting the spacious grounds. There would be room for all.

I love this time of year.

The Da and the Wrestler are downstairs watching Star Trek: Nemesis which the Da insists on calling 'Nematode'. I am easily amused.
