That rassafrazzling LSAT prep course I'm taking started last night.

It was a three hour diagnostic test chock full of logic questions that, while they weren't particularly difficult, did kind of wear my brain out. By the 50th one all the words kind of blended together and my brain ceased functioning at peak proficiency. I think I momentarily lost 20 IQ points.

We'll see how it goes. Will be taking the class three days a week, each class being three hours long, for the next month. Will also be sitting in the most uncomfortable chairs in the world. I think caffeine is going to be my bestest friend. And possibly my own personal masseuse.

Mmmmmm, masseuse ...

And when did I get so old? I looked around that little classroom, surrounded by 3rd and 4th year college students and it was so surreal. I mean, there was even a girl next to me complaining about how she had had a class at 8:30 that morning and nothing else the entire day and she was soooo exhausted. Honey, I worked a 8 hour day and then had to drive down here, survive the hordes of students wandering the streets and find a place to park. Don't tell me about exhausted.

That mostly amuses me this morning. Oh yes, I'm so bloody ancient. *grins* *rolls eyes*

Realized as I was laying in bed last night that the class will interfere with the first two episodes of Lost season two. NOOOOOOOO! I have to say that Lost ranks higher on the priority list (what, my priorities are perfectly reasonable! Stop laughing!) and so I will be missing those two classes. Never fear, they can be made up. If anyone there asks why I was absent I will inform them that I had a "prior business engagement" that I couldn't reschedule. The instructor's a fanboy, he'll understand.

I need to buy a hawaiian shirt to wear when I see Serenity. I have a browncoat but I need the shirt. You know, we should have some sort of Livejournal masquerade. I've seen it done around the 'net. We could all 'show up' in costume and bring 'guests' and have a grand ol' time. Or maybe I need a nap.

ETA: OMG! Forget about the masquerade. Wait, not forget, but I had this other idea last night. We need to have a Crackpot Theory Day. It'll be a day where we each consider the most outlandish theories held by real people. The crazier the better. If it's fun on The West Wing just think about what the mass insanity of LJ could be like.

Word Origin of the Day: Bureau - In one form of Latin, the word bura referred to a specific kind of rough, shaggy garment. This became burel in Old French, with the meaning now referring to "cloth woven from wool." From this arose the modern Frech word bureau, originally meaning "a cloth used to cover desks." Various applications appeared after this in English, all linked to a form of office furniture, including "bureaus" as a furniture format and "bureaus" as government or corporate departments. "Bureaucracy" also sprang from this association.

Keep us posted on the law school process, will ya? I'm both rooting for you and curious about the whole thing since I may follow your path in a few years (and then I'll get to be the old person in the LSAT class!). Also, you worked a 40 hour day? I'm impressed! Can I borrow the magic time machine?

Good luck surviving it all!
Also, re: LJ ideas - you are very brilliant.

I said that, didn't I? *headdesk* Yes of course I work 40 hour days. That doesn't violate the laws of space and time at all. It's a closely guarded family secret. If I let you into the family time machine then I'd have to kill you. Or strand you in the Cambrian Era. Either or.

Why, thank you! If more peole are interested we'll have to schedule dates and the like. It'll be fabulous.

It helps emphasize how tired you are! Plus, since you're older than them, you obviously had to walk uphill both ways 10 miles through 3 feet of snow (in Michigan in August) to just get to the class. Little typos are perfectly excusable after that ordeal.

Um. I think I'll stay out of the time machine in that case :)

It would be fabulous! So...who supplies the cheese? :)

*puts on old granny shoes* *climbs into rocker* It's good to be respected for my age and wisdom. Please keep it up. *snerk*

But don't you want to be stuck in the Cambrian? Wouldn't it be a relaxing escape from all of the stupid people in the world? Only the great hulking beasts, insects the size of your head and dangerous plant-life for company. What a vacation!

Leo supplies the cheese, of course. It was his idea, after all. I'm sure we could use my LJ as the White House foyer and then branch off to all the different 'staffers offices' (other participants LJs) to hear the cracked out theories.

Of course your priorities are in order! Lost is important. That being said, when does it start?

And I'm in total agreeance with the LJ Masquerade/Crazy Theory Day party. That would be so much fun!

You know, this is kind of weird but I don't think I ever got this comment. Wow, lj's letting us down. ;-)

I should put some more thought into either one of those parties. They could be lots and lots of fun.

And, just in case you didn't know, though I think you do, Lost starts a week from today. YAY!
