So, let's see, what to write ...

Am already planning for Christmas. I love Christmas. I love the lights and the trees and the ornaments and the cards and the cookies and the chance to give people presents. And the music. Mostly it's about the giving people things, though. It makes me happy.

You know that really annoying Celine Dion song from Titanic? Some stupid tourist gift shop was playing it over the weekend and now it's stuck in my head. Damn, I hate that song.

Somehow I'm getting the Wall Street Journal. I know I didn't order it. Bleh. Reading about finance would be just as enjoyable as getting some sort of rash. So not my cup of tea. Maybe the Big Lug ordered it, he's into stuff like that.

Let's play around. First, what House would you self-sort yourself into? After much deliberation I've settled on Ravenclaw for myself but am curious where everyone else would put themselves.

Second, a meme. Pick any character(s) from any fandom with which I am familiar and I will write a one-line fic. Take your best shot. =D

ETA: My shoulder hurts. I don't remember running around drunk and tripping over my own feet but then, one doesn't tend to actually remember things like that.

I think I'd want to be in Ravenclaw, but I'd probably end up in Hufflepuff, lol.

Fandom character...hm, give me a one-liner for Wash from Firefly. :D

Hey, Hufflepuff's a great house! For a while I was convinced that I was a 'Puff and, you know, that's not a bad thing to be. Just think Cedric Diggory. But if you want to be Ravenclaw then Ravenclaw you shall be. So it is decreed. =D

I'm not so good at bringing the Joss-ian funny so ...

Sometimes, late at night when the crew was asleep with only the stars and his thoughts for company, Wash would wonder if he should be embarassed by himself with the garish shirts and the plastic dinosaurs and the stupid jokes but then he would think about the way Zoe smiled just for him and realize that everything was more then worth it.

Hmm....I know I'd definitely want to be in Ravenclaw, but at a push I'd accept Gryffindor (they have all the fun!). But I'd probably end up in Hufflepuff *sigh*. Mind you, Cedric Diggory was pretty damn cool and he was in that house, so it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Meme - okay.....Remus Lupin. That okay?

Hope the shoulder feels better soon! I'm sending round Doc Roe to See To You. :D

I think I'd put you in Gryffindor but that's just me. Into Ravenclaw you shall go. Shazaam!

Oooo, Remus, excellent choice ...

The first time Remus stepped into the Hogwarts Library was like a revelation. The scent of dust and paper and ink, the neverending rows of books; it was the most amazing thing he had ever seen. He didn't care that James and Sirius were laughing at the way his mouth hung open and the tears that were pooling at the edges of his eyes because he finally felt as if he were coming home. It was the only place he would ever feel safe.

I'd love to be in Hufflepuff, but let's face it, I'm in Slytherin. Sigh.

C. Carwood Lipton.

Slytherin's pretty durn cool. There's not a huge difference between the competetiveness of us Ravenclaws and the ambition of you Slytherins. I wouldn't be surprised if there were nearly as many Ravenclaw Death Eaters as there were Slytherin.

Lipton, huh? Alright, let's give it a shot ...

After the war Carwood tried damned hard to forget some things. Not the battle and the bloodshed like most would think but rather the quiet moments, like a night in Bastogne when the cold got into his bones and the fog hung thick around them and he wondered what it would be like to let everything go and just drift away, leave it all behind. He didn't like to remember that he had come even that close to giving up on his boys.

I'd definitely be in Ravenclaw, as I'm not sweet enough for Hufflepuff, dark enough for Slytherin, or brave enough for Gryffindor. *nods*

One-liner Meme: LOTR of Chronicles of Narnia.

Thankyoooooou! That was a lovely little peak at Lupin! I'm really interested in him as a child and boy at the moment. I'm in the middle of trying to write a bitty bit, in the few days after he gets bitten by Greyback, and also the Ministry bad guys and the indignities he has to suffer as they take away everything human from him and leave him just a number and name on a piece of paper. Ooh look I'm gettting all angry and emotional just thinking about it! I remember reading 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them', and it mentioning the Beast Division and the Being Division - Werewolf Registration is in Beast Division (horrible, insensitive, stupid wizards) and the Being Division (sensitive and sympathetic wizards). Ho hum. It's a whole bunch of nothing so far, but it's okay if it never sees the light. Actually it'd probably be a good thing if it never does...

Yay! Ravenclaw it is! But why do you say Gryffindor? I am a big wuss! By the way, I've already established that I would be a Beater in quidditch. I am pretty decent with a ball and bat, but having never flown on a broomstick it's hard to say if I'd be any good at it. lol. But if you're ever in need of a Beater for your quidditch team, I'm your girl!
x.

Keep up the young!Lupin fic. It sounds fascinating.

I don't know, Gryffindor just felt right. There wasn't really any logic involved (sometimes I'm not a very good Ravenclaw;-). 'Course, we are always much braver in our journals then we are in real life.

Wheeee! Another Ravenclaw! We are multiplying quite a bit around these parts. =D

And would you dreadfully mind picking a character or two from LotR or Narnia? It kinda helps to narrow the field a bit, so to speak.

I have issues with christmas, but I do hear you on loving the holiday season and the excuse to brighten people's days and the beauty of the lights in the trees.

I've always thought I'd fit best into Ravenclaw.

As for meme....hmm.....Firefly. Kaylee and Simon.

Bad shoulder! No faking RHAR-related injuries (unless you were just on a sekrit RHAR mission you aren't telling us about)

Because that's all I ever seem to get. Flashes and moments but no coherent stories. Maybe I should just stop procrastinating and try harder, eh?

Yay! Another Ravenclaw! We could sit down right here and start our own House, couldn't we. =D

Kaylee and Simon, that's a bit of a challenge ...

Simon never seems to say the right thing to Kaylee. He tries, gorram how he tries, but nothing he attempts ever comes out right. Some days he despairs of ever knowing how to communicate with someone so bright and intelligent and beautiful and so he determines to give it all up and stay in his Infirmary where he could actually accomplish something. But then she'll smile at him over their plates of indeterminate foodstuff, that brilliant, all-encompassing smile of her's, and he'd be lost all over again.

Oh, I understand those problems. I only get fic to work when I get several related flashes and manage to string them together into something larger.

Maybe you should try drabbles for a bit? Perfect for flashes.
Because that Lip one? So beautiful/perfect it made me shiver. You just hit it so well.

Hmmm, drabbles, what a good idea.

Actually, I have this little Garcia bit that would work great as a Drop into Holland freebie. I should dig it out and let you see it.

Drabbles take their own special skill. Some people can't write them and some are really good at them.

Point? There is no point. Of course not. I would never say oblique things in a blatant attempt to beat an old joke to death. Perish the thought.

All righty then. Will start with Lucy and Peter first ...

They stood there, outlined by the brilliant sunlight, dressed in clothing finer then they had ever imagined in their old, dull, grey life. The mermaids sang and their subjects (their subjects) bowed before them and Lucy felt as if her heart would burst from the glory of it all. Peter's eyes met her's in a sudden piercing bolt and she knew that he felt it all too. This was their moment, more then anyone else's, because they had never, ever stopped believing.

Aragorn and Faramir are going to be a wee bit more of a struggle ...

Perhaps he should have felt resentment for the way this Man (this pretender whispered Denethor's insidious voice in his mind) sat on the throne that had for so long been empty and ruled the city that had for so long been his family's but instead he felt nothing but relief and joy. This was the Man who had brought him and his Lady back from the Darkness, who had challenged Sauron's mite and come forth bruised yet victorious. Faramir was happy to live under his rule, free from the Shadow at last.

Oh my gosh. I wrote 'Sauron's mite.' That's hillarious.

I, of course, meant might. *snerk*
