La la la meme

1)Total number of films I own on DVD/video:
Oy, I have no idea. Possibly 50, if both DVD and VHS collections are added together. Maybe more, but probably not. There are many, many movies that I want that I do not yet own.

2) The last film I bought:
Office Space

3) The last film I watched:
Southie. It's a South Boston family/crime drama that stars Donnie Wahlberg and a whole bunch of other people who I vaguely recognized (one of who was Will Arnett and it drove me crazy until I remembered that he is on Arrested Development, a show I don't watch faithfully but catch every now and again). It was good, a solid 3 and a half stars. The acting was good but the story could have been put together better. Dragged a little.

4) Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:
Lord of the Rings, Band of Brothers, Gattaca, Pride & Prejudice (A&E) and The Wizard of Oz. These are, of course, conditional. My tastes and favorites change by the day, if not the minute.

5) Tag five people who have to do this meme:
The pertinent question is, who hasn't done this yet? I say, whoever wants to fill this puppy out should, by all means. (Yes, yes, I am horribly lazy;-).

Three and a half stars? Really? Are you on a scale of four or five? I think I would have rated it much higher if Rose McAnnoying hadn't been in it.

Ah, I haven't watched Southie in ages. I love any movie set in Boston and having to do with the intricate "politics" there. Hell, I love Boston. =)

On a scale of five. I actually wasn't all that annoyed by Rose McGowan, but that might be due to the fact that I wasn't really paying a lot of attention to her scenes. Come to think of it, though, she was really over the top, wasn't she? I was paying so much attention to how good a job Donnie was doing that I kind of tuned her out.

All things considered, it's still the script that keeps it under a four, IMO.

I was happily surprised at how good it was. Boston is a very interesting, intricate place that doesn't get nearly enough attention. Though, I think I remember hearing that Martin Scorsese's new movie is going to be a Boston crime thriller. Hmmmmm

Okay, 3.5 out of 5 I'll give you :-)

Boston is just fabulous. In addition to the mobish politic that still goes on, it is steeped in history, culture, and diversity. There is always something to see or visit just around the corner. If I had my druthers, I'd move there.

I'm a little worried about Scorsese's movie. I don't want my Boston glammed or rammed.

Yay crazy Donnie movies! And even apparently a not-bad one!

And Wizard of Oz! I haven't seen that in too long - oughta fix that (in high school my friend and I did one final trick-or-treat and made our own Wizard of Oz costumes - I got to be the tin man. It was awesome! We had people make us wait at the door so they could get their families to see us).

My roommate just finished reading and watching Pride and Prejudice. She went NUTS.

Our boys need to be in more not-bad movies. For example, if Ron ever makes another Little Black Book I will be most unamused. =D

Oh, Wizard of Oz. When I was a kid we didn't have cable and every year one of the network stations would play Wizard of Oz. We'd pull out the couch-bed, pop popcorn and stay up late to watch it. Those were good times.

You tin man costume sounds awesome. *makes notes for Halloween*

Ha Ha, the Pride and Prejudice love is impossible to withstand. It's just too wonderful for words.

True. Though I think I might prefer they live in bad movies than get blowed up in good ones. Happens all too often.

Sounds like my memories of The Wizard of Oz growing up. Also no cable, also every year. *loves*

Tin Man:
Take an old pair of jeans and an old pair of shoes, cover in duct tape. Spray paint two posterboards silver and form into cylinder with armholes. Wear grey sweatshirt. Buy funnel (which will be blue plastic because they don't make metal ones that I could find). Cover funnel in aluminum foil and extend it down to over your hair. Assemble on body. Put on silver face point. Voila!
We had a Dorothy (with Toto), Scarecrow, Lion, Tin man, Witch and Flying Monkey. Was the bestest ever.
