Just got back from lunch with the Da only to find my other boss hovering over my desk and talking on my phone in a private-seeming manner. Sorry, dude, I hate to displace you but you're going to have to continue your little phone chat back in your own office.

While heading to lunch we passed a comic book store, it's relatively new and amuses me to no end. I'm actually amused for two reasons; that I walk by a comic book store 3 or 4 times a day and that it's name is Clem's. Anyway, I pointed out my amusement to my father who's response was, "There's this scene in one of the last episodes of Band of Brothers where the one guy is talking about how much he likes to read and then he lists off a bunch of comic books." We shared a laugh and I was grateful that my head did not explode.

We then went and ate chinese, which didn't help. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] writerj I can now never eat an innocent meal of broccoli chicken ever again.

If I were ever appointed to some high religious office and had to choose a new name to go with it I would be Deborah I. This is not merely a random choice but actually honors a biblical figure who fascinates me. She was a prophetess and Judge in Ancient Israel. She and Barak, a general, defeated the 'gentiles' and were beloved by the unconventional shippers of antiquity. In my opinion her story is much more interesting then, say, Samson's but one hardly ever hears it.

It looks like it's going to rain. I hope it does.

Watch it, buster. I might have to send Tom and Huck to take you out.

Hold it ... wait ... that's not really threatening, is it? ;-D

Deborah is so another of my role models.

Revealing your fannish underbelly is always scary. Hurrah to you for sharing the joy with the Da without exploding heads.

I always walk a strange fannish tightrope around my father. He likes many of the things I fan over (LotR, BoB) so discussions of such things are not all that uncommon. It's given me a lot of practice in controlling the urge to squee;-).

I was just happy that I thought rather then vocalized the WEBGOTT!!!!! that screamed through my head after his little comment.

1) <3 Joe!

2) You should read The Red Tent if you haven't. (This is re: Biblical women, not just totally random.) Remind me to tell you about it.

2) Have seen it but have not read it. Will have to bug you about it at a later date.
