Apr. 20th, 2005 12:31 pmJust got back from lunch with the Da only to find my other boss hovering over my desk and talking on my phone in a private-seeming manner. Sorry, dude, I hate to displace you but you're going to have to continue your little phone chat back in your own office.
While heading to lunch we passed a comic book store, it's relatively new and amuses me to no end. I'm actually amused for two reasons; that I walk by a comic book store 3 or 4 times a day and that it's name is Clem's. Anyway, I pointed out my amusement to my father who's response was, "There's this scene in one of the last episodes of Band of Brothers where the one guy is talking about how much he likes to read and then he lists off a bunch of comic books." We shared a laugh and I was grateful that my head did not explode.
We then went and ate chinese, which didn't help. Thanks to
writerj I can now never eat an innocent meal of broccoli chicken ever again.
If I were ever appointed to some high religious office and had to choose a new name to go with it I would be Deborah I. This is not merely a random choice but actually honors a biblical figure who fascinates me. She was a prophetess and Judge in Ancient Israel. She and Barak, a general, defeated the 'gentiles' and were beloved by the unconventional shippers of antiquity. In my opinion her story is much more interesting then, say, Samson's but one hardly ever hears it.
It looks like it's going to rain. I hope it does.
