There is not enough caffeine in the world to wake me up today. Indulged in strange sleeping patterns last night which included falling asleep at 7PM, waking up around 9 and not going back to sleep until around 1:30AM. Very random.

Why did I not know that the History Channel would be showing Band of Brothers this week?! That way I could have taped it all for myself and given the tapes I have back to their owner. Currahee was on last night and I'm sure the periodic squealing that wafted from my open windows surprised more then one innocent bystander in the parking lot below.

I'm not a big fan of reality tv, but there is one that show that I watch whenever I get the chance, and that is the #-- House series on PBS. There have been many incarnations such as Edwardian House and Frontier House and Regency House Party. They recently started Colonial House and I'm having a ball. It's a bunch of people who get together and have to live as people in that era (this incarnation takes place in 1628) lived. There are no competitions, no voting off the island, just a bunch of modern people struggling with living as their ancestors lived. It's great, I spend my Sunday nights in historical grime and filth and drama as I go from Deadwood at 9 to Colonial House at 10.

I need more icons. I think I'm going to spend the day making some. What, you think I should do actual work while I'm at work? Pshaw.

I love the "House" series on PBS! I try never to miss them. My favorite was the family who were 'living' in England during WWII and kept getting woken up by air raids.

If tv has to have reality shows I wish they would have more like these. And there are so many variations they could do, like Pirate Ship or Hobbit Hole or things of that nature.

Well, strictly speaking, Colonial House is not new. It was first aired last year. I posted a rant about it, as I recall. I found it the least enjoyable of all of them, mostly because many of the people refused to abide by the rules and try to truly live as the colonists did. Bah.

Now, Edwardian House - that was something.

Dude, it was Edwardian House that got addicted to these shows in the first place. That one was so great that I started Mary Sue-ing myself into it. Lots and lots of love.

I am disappointed to hear that Colonial House does not live up to its predecessors. Dangit, why can't modern people behave?
