Wacky Weekday
Nov. 17th, 2003 10:36 amDo you know what comes out tomorrow? Do you? Of course you do, but just in case, I'm going to tell you anyway. Two Towers: Extended Edition comes out tomorrow and I must have it. So, if anyone observes me giggling for absolutely no reason in the course of the coming 24 hour period, please don't call the local asylum, it's only the anticipation making me act crazy, I swear;-).
I finished reading Wicked last night. It was good, and completely different from what I expected it to be. I grew up reading L. Frank Baum's Oz books, they're apart of my childhood and most definitely helped shape my adult psyche. In Wicked Maguire didn't so much retell the core story from a different point of view, but rather reimagine the story and withit the whole fictional universe. It is a fascinating look at a world I thought I knew. At it's heart, the narrative strives to investigate the definitions of 'evil' and 'good' and emphasizes how, oftimes, those people we view as being 'good' are actually accomplishing evil. A very interesting study and one that will stay with me for a while.
I'm excited to be singing again. The stake choir had another rehearsal last night, this time for a Christmas Concert we're putting on. It's so much fun to sing with people who are not only singers, but also musicians. Aw shucks, I just love singing and I especially love hitting all of those glorious high notes, so much fun;-).
Found a quizzie, thought it was cool...;-).
