Suddenly, I don't have as much downtime at work as I did a couple days ago. Now I'm helping to revise some grant proposals, something I've never actually done before. This should be intersting. However, I have noticed that this job is well suited to someone with my experience in slinging academic BS. I was told to change some of the language to make it stand out a bit more to the EPA, I don't think any history major in existence would have a problem with that;-).

Speaking of history, I have another paper due next Monday. It's only a 5-pager, so I'm not really stressing over it. I have to write about and, of course, analyze Machiavelli's The Prince. You would think, after all of the years I've spent at the school and all of the money I've paid to it, that U-M could have taught me something more then how to successfully BS my way through pissant history papers;-).

Wow, that sounded a little bitter. I have to admit, I have learned a lot of random information and I've made a lot of really great friends because I went to U-M (hello friends!) so I suppose I don't have antything to complain about;-). After all, it's not U-M's fault that I have no idea what to do after they give me a diploma.

Enough kvetching. Back to the grant proposals.

work + downtime = something I can't imagine!

Good luck with the grant proposals, and Happy Friday!

:)

I totally disagree

With everything except the part about making really great friends at UofM. But it is totally their fault, everything is. I say that daily. If something happens to the car, it's because of UofM. If Danielle gets mad at me, it's their fault. That makes life so much easier!

BS at UM

girl, you seem surprised by the fact that mostly what you have learned is how to BS :) don't you know that's the greatest commodity in the world? -erin

Thanks for the luck, it really helped, believe me;-).

I have a feeling I'll be wishing for the days of downtime at work in the very near future. Sigh. I shouldn't have complained so much about being so bored that my brains were oozing out of my ears;-).

I might just become a convert to your new social theory. Let me try... It's all U-M's fault that my dog won't stop chewing on my pillows. You're right! That does make everything feel better;-).

Snerk. Now all I have to learn to do is market my mad BS'ing skills and I'll be made in the shade;-).

Thank you, thank you. I feel so vindicated by your praise of my vocabulary. Your pupil has learned much from the master.
