Dec. 23rd, 2008 11:44 pmI'm not dead, I promise!
Though, it would be reasonable to assume that I'd been buried under drift upon drift of snow. I don't think it's ever snowed this much in December in Michigan. At least, not in my lifetime. It's ridiculous and beautiful and makes driving an absolute bitch. Last Friday I got stuck in the snow 5 times just going driving two miles downtown and two miles back again. But somehow, I can't help but love it. In a week or so I'll be cursing the day I decided to spend another winter in Michigan, but for right now it's lovely and wonderful and oh so very Christmas-y.
Speaking of Christmas, I have been inundated in the last week and a half with ten million Christmas responsibilities and obligations. There's been family to visit and cookies to bake and old friends with which to reconnect. It's extremely tiring. Don't they know I have important fannish projects to accomplish? *sighs and is vexed*
I don't foresee finding much me/fan time in the near future, either. Tomorrow will be full of preparing the parents' domicile for Christmas and picking the Big Lug up at the Detroit airport. And then, of course, it's Christmas. Maybe I'll get a little respite after the holiday.
I know, I know, but a girl can dream. ;-)
BTW, have found out much more about the Wrestler's girlfriend. I guess he decided that I was the only sane member of my family in whom he could confide, which is always nice, so everytime we've gone off to do something without the parents he's pretty much talked about her non-stop. She sounds, in a word, awesome. We have similar opinions about single ward Relief Societies and she bosses the Wrestler around and he loves it. She also made him take her to see Twilight which is something I find both hilarious and adorable. Thank goodness he's finally gotten his just desserts after dragging me to see Death Race. That was not a very good movie.
So, in sum, Wrestler's girlfriend is for grate, family obligations are vaguely of teh suck but aren't all that bad, and if Michigan gets much more snow I'm going to go looking for the White Witch. And now that it's officially Christmas Eve Day I think I should get me to bed. Good night!
