Praying for Spring
Mar. 22nd, 2004 02:12 pmIt's so clear, the sun is shining, it looks like it should be an absolutely gorgeous day. Except, the sky has that strange, crystalline quality to it that promises that instead of being warm and balmy rather it's cold and icy. Dangit, I want spring, I want sunshine to mean warm temperatures instead of cold, I want to be able to walk down the street to pick up lunch without freezing my arse off. Darn Smarch weather. *grumble*
On a better note, the new office is shaping up nicely. There have been any number of problems with the phone system, but it looks like those will all be resolved fairly quickly. It's times like this that make me truly grateful for cell-phones. I <3 my baby phone;-). One of the great things about this office is that it's right over a coffee shop, so I can get warm, chocolate-y beverages anytime I want to. This is prime real estate here, people;-).
Went to see RotK with the Big Lug last Thursday. (Quick side note, things are getting a whole lot better with the Big Lug. I think we're all starting to get used to each other, again.) We had the theater practically to ourselves (save for one woman who came in about two minutes after we did) and it was a wonderful experience. We both loved it a lot, even though it was my sixth viewing and his first. Plus, he got it, he really got it! Even though he's never read the books he completely understood the ending and why Frodo had to leave. He even said that it choked him up, something that rarely, if ever, happens to him while watching a movie. And, bonus, as we were driving away he told me that he wanted to go right back and watch it again. I love that Big Lug;-).
I just want to thank you all for the help you've been over this past week, whether you knew it or not. Just by being yourselves you brought a smile to my face, and for that, I thank you. *big hugs*
