OMG, you guys, you should all be watching Southland. It's so awesome that I'm willing to track it down and watch it even without cable television. It has everything: great storytelling, superb direction, Michael Cudlitz being all gruff and commanding (while having pain management issues), Ben McKenzie channeling the best of Ryan Atwood's "I must save everyone!"-ness witout annoying Marissa Cooper around (and monopolizing the McKenzie character's growth arc about how self-destructive that trait can be), and Regina King being MORE AWESOME THAN ANYONE ELSE ON THE PLANET (while still being flawed and vulnerable and real).

I, just, here, watch the season two promo. And then watch the show. It's not mytharc heavy so you don't have to worry about being confused, just jump right in and WATCH.
