Nov. 10th, 2008 08:22 pmGot a new drug to try. I like my doctor because she so easily diagnosed me (hey, after 6 years a quick diagnosis is a literal godsend) but I kind of felt like a disappointment because of the bad reaction I had to other drugs like Cymbalta and Lyrica. Which is kind of crazy because, hello, I'm the patient and even if my body is weird it's still not my fault or anything like that. So, yeah, doc can be a little offputting but that's okay. But, anyway, now I have something that's an opoid so if that doesn't help the pain I don't know what will. And apparently the possibility of dependancy is similar to that of acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Since I take ibuprofen like candy I think I'll be okay.
In correlation with the above, found a great article about fibromyalgia. I've always loved the French but I love them a little more right now.
That reminds me of the show on the history of illegal drugs that I watched on Friday. At one point, when there weren't any illegal drugs in the U.S., the patent medications were, generally, about 50% opiate derived. Apparently there was a rash of mothers who would come home from a long, hard day at work and dose their children to quiet them down and then dose themselves and go to sleep. A whole generation grew up in a stoned haze and malnourished because Mommy was too busy and high to cook and they were too high to be hungry.
Huh, I suddenly have the strangest urge to watch Deadwood ...
OMG, I love
obama_daily SO MUCH! Michelle Obama is one outstandingly classy woman. I think I need more icons.
Just so you don't think that I've left SPN entirely by the wayside, there's a self-pimping meme going on over here in which I encourage everyone to participate. Because our stories are for the public but they're also for ourselves. And there's a 'pimp your favorites' meme going on over here that's also pretty cool.
It's all about the love.
