Am in Oxford. Had the worst day and a half of travel ever. Note to everybody, never, ever, under any circumstances cross the Atlantic via Air Transat. I was jammed into a tiny seat and was so close to my neighbor that the idea of personal space became nonexistent. I was not able to sleep and by about four hours into the flight I was nearly ready to lose it. Thank goodness for the ipod [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth and [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr gave me as I was able to distract myself with Winchesters.

I flew into Gatwick airport which is, apparently, very tiny. I then took a coach to Oxford and was able to get about an hour's sleep on it. That wasn't so bad, but then, I got to Oxford. First, the map the foreign study people gave me was wrong, so I wandered around looking for the housing place. Then I had to drop of my stuff and get to orientation in an hour. I made the foolish decision to walk and proceeded to go in the wrong direction at nearly every turn. Apparently England doesn't believe in street signs, or, at least, only tragically unhelpful ones.

I got to orientation when it was nearly over and then got lost on my way back. I finally made it back and promptly fell asleep. I woke up this morning feeling so crappy that I was unable to go to class. This whole experience is not starting out very well at all because right now all I want to do is go home.

Okay, I'm going to go start listing off all of the good things that have happened and hopefully pull myself out of this. Be excellent to each other.
