I do actually have more travelogue-y stuff to post, about my visits to the ROM and Casa Loma, but I'm not going to do that right now. Right now I'm going to talk about tv. I know, what a shocker.

Well, I bit the bullet and downloaded The Middleman off of iTunes this afternoon. I say I 'bit the bullet' because I intensely dislike the iTunes format and their video never seems to play very well on any computer I've ever had. But, I wanted to see The Middleman and my normal grr argh-ing sites were no help (probably because it's still free over at iTunes).

Anyway, some of you might remember that before the beginning of the 07-08 television season I was a little bummed about how there were all of these shows coming out with boy geeks in the lead (like Chuck) but nothing with a female protagonist. Well, my friends, The Middleman totally makes up for it! It also has fun comic book violence, cheeky pop culture references, and all sorts of neato things. Plus, and most importantly, Wendy Watson, the heroine, is so one of us, the smart, geeky, competent chick stuck in a neverending series of dead-end jobs to pay the bills but her heart truly lies down more creative paths.

The pilot made me giggle and clap my hands on more than one occasion. It's just Fun with a capital-F, and that's so not a bad thing. As much as I love angst (and, boy howdy, do I ever) we can never have too much Fun in our lives. And it's just what this fangirl needed. I highly recommend it.

In other news, I went to the store this afternoon and bought ice cream. Upon returning to the residence and opening said ice cream I discovered that it was lactose free. *rolls eyes* It's very ... different. But, it still has peanut butter and chocolate in it, so I'll eat it. I paid good money for it, after all.

But, still, soy ice cream. huh.
