May. 26th, 2008 03:23 amI had the most fantastic weekend imaginable, full stop. Fangirls really do make everything better.
Friday was spent making cake and opening presents. You guys,
baylorsr and
hiyacynth got me an ipod for my trip! It is beautiful and wonderful and I've had so much fun playing with it.
hiyacynth made sure that I had s.3 SPN eps to watch on the plane by giving me a disc full of mp4 files. I got many other fun things (like The Zen of Zombie from Andy Gallagher the Baylor Sister, an awesome custom comic from
baylorsr, and pillows made from nearly-naked firemen printed fabric by
hiyacynth) but the ipod is definitely the shiniest. And
hiyacynth had, 'Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole' inscribed on the back! I really am Seth Cohen-style stealth about my fanning, aren't I (which is to say, not much at all;-).
Then Saturday was wonderfully bipolar. While the Sister went to a Tigers game,
baylorsr,
hiyacynth, and I went to see Prince Caspian. OMG, Narnia. I cry more every time I see it. Afterwards we couldn't stop talking about how in love with it all we are. The 12 year-old girls inside of us are still ridiculously, and chastely, in love with Peter and Caspian and Edmund. We then had to watch The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and boggle at how wee they all were. After that we watched some Flight of the Conchords to transition us into the dirty part of the evening (hence the bipolar). I challenge any of you to watch highlights of 'Dead Man's Blood' with fangirls and not have really strong, really dirty reactions. The things John Winchester's voice does to me. Guh.
We spent Sunday morning watching The O.C., which is always fun. And then we had to part. *sighs* There's never enough time before RL has to intervene. But it certainly was stupendous while it lasted.
I think I'm going to go back and see Prince Caspian again. That sounds like a good way to spend Memorial Day.
