Mar. 27th, 2008 02:09 pmMan, you guys, I am so behind in everything it's not even funny. And yet, at the same time I'm bemoaning my lack of preparedness of things like exams I'm also experiencing deep ennui. I care and I don't care all at the same time. Brain! Why do you hate me?!
Have been lurking around fandom and seen various amusing things. Like a bunch of chicks who keep on posting these rabidly "feminist" screeds against slash and Joss Whedon that has made some people erupt in anger. Come on, you guys, when people are obviously batshit crazy you're only encouraging them when you get all riled up like this. Ignore them and they'll stop, trust me on this one.
Did you all know that Zac Efron played wee!Simon in the Tam flashback episode of Firefly? I think it's called 'Bushwhacked.' Anyway, this is hilarious because the Baylor Sister is in love with Zac Efron (thus proving that her inner 12 year old is still alive and well) so when I told her she made screechy noises. It was delightful.
And, OMG, Joss has to stop casting people I like in his new show. Tahmoh Penikett was just cast in his latest and OMG, I do not want to watch your stupid Dark Angel-wannabe show, Joss! So just stop it! Cause I love Helo more than a little.
The family situation has been rather surreal lately. My great-uncle left the Da a sizeable amount, a portion of which was in J.P. Morgan stock. This has made the whole financial situation of the past week or so very intersting, seeing as J.P. Morgan stock shot up after the Bear Stearns collapse and takeover. It's just ... weird to be so personally involved in the fluctuation of the financial markets. o_0
But, on the other side, the Mum was in the hospital on Monday and Tuesday to get a heart catheterization. She's fine, it's all fine, but I couldn't help but think as I was sitting ther, in her room after the procedure, that this is a glimpse of what the future will hold for me and my parents. It's an eye-opener, and no mistake.
A word of warning to my international friends, I have purchased my plane ticket to London. I will be invading the United Kingdom on 30 June and plan to stay there till 13 August. I promise to be a beneficent dictator.
I should really, really, really go stupy my Wills assignment for this week. And outline. I have to outline like a madwoman. Stupid f-ing law school. *grumble grumble*
