Aug. 6th, 2007 09:59 amCamping was marvelous. The weather was beyond perfect and the lake was gorgeous. Had to come back a night early because I overdid it a little but besides that everything was great.
Camping, however, is not the reason for this post. You all have to run, not walk, but run over to
hiyacynth's lj and read her latest story Mockingbird. It's a SPN story set post season two. The events of the season finale forced it AU but, man oh man, that so doesn't matter.
hiyacynth has written an amazing story. She's normally a great writer and her stories are always top notch but this story is the best thing she's ever written. The character voices are so strong, the plot is so tight and the writing is so exemplary that it has routinely given me the shivers and on more than one occasion driven me to tears. It's extraordinary.
So extraordinary, in fact, that ideas she came up with in January were routinely co-opted by Kripke as season two progressed. There were a couple times when the overlap was downright creepy. Her brain and the Kripkechip implanted therein continue to amuse and amaze me.
I'm telling you all to go right now rightnowrightnowrightnow and read Part One of Mockingbird so that you too can be thrilled and amazed by an awesome story exceptionally told.
OMG, I'm so excited this is finally being posted. You have no idea. *claps hands in excitement*
