law school blather, read at your own peril )

OK then, enough of that. Saw Old Crow Medicine Show in Detroit Saturday past. They were great but I think I'm getting too old for general admission, standing room only venues. By the second set people started pressing in on all sides and I had to escape the throng or freak out. However, by escaping the throng I got to lean against the wall and watch a bunch of people dance which was really cool. And I got a t-shirt. They misspelled 'Detroit' but it lists a future show in Lawrence, KS so now I have a shirt that has Lawrence, KS on it which more then makes up for any other typos.

Went to the show with my brothers and their housemates and random friends and before hand we went to Mexicantown to have dinner at a great restaurant. As we were paying a photo on the wall caught my eye and I was all, "OMG, I think that's Edward James Olmos!" and I called the Wrestler over and pointed it out to him and he was all, "Buh?" I prompted him with a, "You know, Admiral Adama." and he still shrugged at me. Apparently only my fellow fangirls are excited about the things that excite me. But, still, Edward James Olmos ate in a restaurant that I ate in! You know, that was a pretty good day for fannish connections. The only disappointment was that Old Crow didn't play 'We're All In This Together' (a song I used on my plague!Apocalypse mix) because that would've made the day freaking perfect. Oh! Before I forget, we saw a poster for a group called 'Lez Zeppelin' an all female Led Zeppelin cover band. I can just imagine Dean's reaction to that. It would probably go something like this... )

In summation, fandom makes everything more interesting and the 'normals' out there don't know what they're missing.

I feel like I should have something profound to say in closing but, you know, I'm not feeling particularly verbose or anything like that. So I'll leave you with a word of warning. Apparently running a microwave and a toaster oven off of the same plug at the same time will blow a fuse and then you'll spend too much time trying to figure out which one it was because the fuse box is poorly labeled and you'll end up warming up your crappy left-overs on the stove anyway. Knowledge is power, ya'll. ;-)
