I like to troll the internet movie rumor sites. It's a lot of fun and keeps me up to date on some of the latest happenings in a variety of projects that are either exciting or somehow pique my interest. I've begun to realize that I know people who might be just as interested in this kind of knowledge and who don't have the time to do the same kind of random surfing. So here, for your consideration, are some of the more interesting rumors I've come across lately.

First off, a little bit for you Joss Whedon fans, it looks like Angel is dead on network TV and Firefly is going to be appearing at a multiplex near you sometime in the future. From chud.com come the following tidbits.
UPN Dusts Angel
Serenity Has Been Granted

As if there was any doubt that Spiderman would continue on ad infinitum into the future, there are now reports that Spiderman 3 is already in the planning stages and is set to be released in 2007.
Webbing up Another Spiderman Movie

There are also some new trailers appearing online for some highly anticipated movies. The new trailer for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkabahn can be found here and a new trailer for Hellboy, a movie I am growing ever more excited to see, can be found here. Also, if you haven't seen it yet, go over here and check out the trailer for something entitled The Lord of the Rings - The Journey. It's a fun look at the trilogy as a whole.

To finish off today's little look at what's going on in the semi-interesting parts of Hollywood I wanted to include some news about some old fantasy classics that now look to be ready to get the celluloid treatment. Both CS Lewis's The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Edgar Rice Burroughs's The Princess of Mars are rolling into production, as reported by Garth Franklin over at Dark Horizons
"Mars" and "Lion" Move into Alignment

This one's for Erin, who years ago introduced me to the handsomeness that is Mr. Paul Rudd. The fact that he might be in a movie which Sean Astin might be directing just puts a smile on my face. Check it out.

And, since we've all already heard about it, I guess I don't need to mention that JJ Abrams pilot starring Dominic Monaghan and Ian Somerhalder, but, then again, I don't believe I can resist mentioning it either. Aaaah, the pretty...

That's it for today, folks. Let's see how long I can keep this up before I fall smack dab on my face or leave a greasy little spot on the pavement;-).

Mark my words - Hellboy will be better than Spidersuck and every other action movie this summer. I can't wait!
