Sep. 26th, 2007 11:09 pmWhat the hell? I don't have an icon with Winters on it? When was I stupid enough to make that change? My idiocy grows in leaps and bounds. I have three with Nix and none with Winters? That's just not right, my friends.
Ahem, if you didn't guess by now I watched Damian Lewis's new show, Life, tonight and really, really enjoyed it. There were lots of things I really, really enjoyed about it but it's success was planted squarely on the shoulders of the actor in the lead role, if they hadn't gotten such an amazing actor to play Charlie Crewes it would've crashed and burned. He was absolutely terrific and created a character of complexity and depth who I really, really enjoyed.
And it really doesn't hurt that that man is stunningly gorgeous in everything he does. There were suits and long profile shots and kevlar vests and mmmmm. Law enforcement hasn't looked this good since Mulder left my tv screen.
Plus, the supporting cast is fantastic. Sarah Shahi as his partner was a great foil for his eccentricities while creating a strong character of her own. Adam Arkin (OMG, it's Doctor Stanley!) was terrific as well. I'll admit it, I was charmed by it all.
Plus, there was Bull! And Ash! I am looking forward to many Vortexian guest stars to come.
ETA: And holy crap! Calamity Jane! I love Robin Weigert and she was fantastic and I spent every second she was onscreen going I know, her, where do I know her from? Deadwood was a really dirty show, wasn't it? Thank you IMDb for helping me out and making me feel like an idiot all at the same time. ;-)
Also watched the Bionic Woman. It had its ups and downs but I enjoyed it enough to give it another week. I am kinda glad that they shot, and hopefully killed, the boyfriend. I get it, he couldn't let her die so he implanted all of this stuff, thus subjecting her to a life of servitude to the shady government types. When she came to see him after Starbuck did the whole creepy, 'You're not alone' thing in the bar I was kind of hoping she'd break up with him. That was the beginning of a fucked up relationship if I ever saw one. Thank goodness Starbuck took the post-coital opportunity to use her trusty sniper rifle.
It's not surprising that the only real sexual chemistry so far has been between the two bionic women. I remember s.3 Buffy, I know how these things go. Anyway, I was entertained enough to give it another shot. We'll see how long I last.
Fall TV's been pretty okay. But Supernatural can come back any day now. Please oh please oh please.
