Sep. 7th, 2006 04:06 pmDay Three of law school done and over. Yes, you can expect updates like this until I'm through my first week, at the very least. Anyway, today was Criminal Law and one of the cases we discussed was from 1884 and had to do with cannibalism on the High Seas. And it was a serious discussion. I was highly amused.
That reminds me, yesterday in Properties the professor talked about Locke and Rousseau and even though it was the philosophers he was referencing I couldn't stop myself from thinking about the characters on Lost. This is what I wrote in my notebook: "Central dilemma of Lost between those who claim and those who don't. Maybe?" The idea stemmed from the Lockean principle that property is central to civil society while Rousseau proposes that property is the cause of all of society's evils. You may discuss if you feel so inclined.
Either my fannish life will bend to my law studies or my law studies will bend to my fannish life. I'm of the opinion that the latter will be the case. ;-)
Have you all seen the new BSG webisode? If you look closely I swear you'll see the original character I invented in this story. I am giddy I tell you. My TV psychic powers are only growing. Soon I shall rule the media and all shall love me and despair. *cue evil laughter*
No, you don't want to go out and buy yourself ice cream. I don't care what kind of excuses you use, you have no money and cannot afford ice cream. There are some very nice apples in the fridge that you can eat. Yes, I know that apples aren't ice cream but you're just going to have to deal, so deal. Sheesh, my not-so-inner 5 year-old can be a pain.
