Aug. 8th, 2006 10:06 amI got the schedule for my first term of law school today. dun dun duuuuun It's official, I am totally freaking out. I've been gleefully making statements for the past month about how I'll use my loan money to pay off my credit cards but now I'm not so sure. Expenses are really piling up, bleh.
Anyway, here are some funny facts about law school: The fall term is called the 'Michaelmas Term' thereby proving that U.S. law is still intertwined with British law, my class isn't called the 'Class of 2009' as would be expected but rather the 'Theodore Souris Class' named after a former Michigan Supreme Court justice. I can already tell that law school is going to be a whole world unto itself.
Heh, Michaelmas term, that's never gonna get old. ;-)
Monday: 9-noon Constituational Law I
6-8PM Intro to Law I
Tuesday: 9-noon Contracts I
Wednesday: 9-noon Property I
Thursday: 9-noon Criminal Law
Friday: 9-noon Torts I
So, the good news is I get out of class at noon everyday (except for the evening class on Mondays). The bad news is that I already have first week assignments. For example, In Constitutional Law I have to read the first 43 pages of the text book and two briefs and that seems to be the average for all of the classes. What have I gotten myself into?
Hee, the president of my law school is named Don LeDuc. *is 12*
Ugh, stupid website. All I want is a freaking campus map so that I know where the hell I'm going. I know where the campus is, you dweebs, now I want to know what all the buildings are called so I'm not late for anything important like, I don't know, the first day of class? No, I don't want your stupid virtual tour. *facepalm*
OK, that's enough with law school. The Parents are on their way to Missouri to pick the Wrestler up from Basic. I have the privilege of staying in their house and eating their food as I dogsit. They all come back on Thursday and on Friday the Da, the Big Lug, the Wrestler, and I leave for the U.P. to do some camping. It's all very exciting.
The
multiverse2004 stories are up for public consumption. If you can guess which one is mine I'll give you a cookie. ETA You must all run and read The Way Back it's a BSG/Firefly story featuring Col. Tigh (a not-so-secret favorite of mine) with spoilers for the season 2 finale and the Big Damn Movie, respectively. It was written for me and is so wonderful that I don't even care that it deals with movie issues that never.happened. Go, read, it's the most fantastic thing evar.
